Industrial Roller Shutter Doors
The minimum specification for roller shutter doors is as follows:
Curtains
Constructed from continuously interlocking galvanised steel laths at 75mm centres, securely held in place by end locks, laths 0.9mm thick, galvanised section along edge 1.8mm thick.
Roller barrel
Mild steel tube, varying in section with door size complete with innerblocks, shafts and helical springs to bs 1726, part 3 or bs 5216 hs3. The helical springs shall counterbalance the curtain weight, the spring size and numbering, dependent upon the curtain weight. Drive gear to be mild steel plate wheel fitted directly to the barrel maximim deflection 1/360 of the shutter span as bs 448, one coat of phosphate black paint.
Mounting brackets
Thick mild steel angles with holes to accept end plates and vertical guide channels.
Vertical guides
Cold rolled steel 3mm thick galvanised guide channels 65 x 25mm with pre-drilled holes which are ready to fit to vertical angles.
Shutterbox/coil
Where required, 0/9mm thick galvanised steel casing face fixed to shutter plates above door opening and all expose parts painted phosphate black.
